The Vermont Country Store Cookbook

Decades in the Making—Our Beautiful Book of Orton Family Recipes, History and Lore

Some cookbooks take several years—this one took several generations and is inspired by our grandmother, Mildred Ellen Wilcox Orton, who knew her way around a kitchen. A passionate advocate for healthy foods, she wrote her own cookbook, Cooking with Wholegrains, way back in 1947. This cookbook, our first collection of family favorites, follows in her footsteps with farm-to-table recipes emphasizing fresh, all-natural ingredients and traditional methods. There are over 110 mouthwatering photos, plus a wealth of history and Vermont wisdom.
