- Tailored valances are made to fit across the window area/curtain rod with little to no pleating or gathering. When ordering a Tailored Valance, select a valance that’s wide enough to cover the width of the window area or curtain rod for a cornice look or 1-1/2 times to double the width of the window for a fuller look.
