Homestyle Pantry Jarred Fruits

Putting up the season’s harvest has long been a frugal Vermonter’s secret for saving money at the grocery store and enjoying a taste of summer all year long. We’ve stocked our home-style fruit pantry with two of our favorites: sweet cherries and cinnamon peaches. Both start with the ripest fruit, fresh from the orchard, that’s preserved using recipes and techniques passed down through the generations. And both have just enough sugar to enhance each fruit’s natural flavor—the peaches are spiced with cinnamon sticks. Please note: Cherries are not pitted.
